“Train Transect” #1: Across Austria

Flying gets you places, and fast, but there’s something to be said for trains and the view out the window.

Now that I’m back in Austria, letting ideas for further presentations of this summer’s lessons for getting at home in… China, our bodies, with social media and tech, and everywhere… gestate, let me share with you one example: A little transect of the Austrian landscape, in the shape of an animated slideshow of pictures taken during my train trip back from the OutDoor fair in Friedrichshafen at the start of this summer.

The journey goes from Bregenz, in the very west, to Vienna, almost in the very east, past Innsbruck and Salzburg, from the Alps towards the flatlands where I usually live, at the edge of the Pannonian plains.

Similar ‘transects’ from China will follow, but now, without further ado…
